NWA Pro/MIW presents: Friday Fight Night
RockNES Monsters vs. Anchors Away-with newly crowned M1W Champion Willie Mack representing Mach-1 in San Francisco, the tandem of Johnny Goodtime and Johnny Yuma take center stage, hoping to spoil the M1W debuts of SoCal mainstays Anchors Away. Will the sea men be able to match up to the high intensity of the Mach-1 crowd favorites?
Bobby Jo Marshall vs. Andrew Hellman-Marshall has gone on record as saying that there is no competition for him here at Mach-1; a boast that Willie Mack proved otherwise when he took Marshall’s title last week. The Awesome Australian has gone on record as saying that Mack’s win was a fluke, and has vowed that if he loses to the red hot Andrew Hellman, he’ll leave Mach-1 and go back to his homeland. Does Hellman have the fuel, the fire, and the desire to fall this monster from down under? For Hellman’s championship aspirations, he’d better hope so.
James Morgan vs. Todd Chandler-Morgan’s frustration has only grown since losing the M1W Championship—a title he defended against the top talents in SoCal for over a year. Those frustrations grew more when he was pinned by the new M1W Champion Willie Mack last Friday night then attacked him during the 4 way elimination match. Todd Chandler coming in as the underdog, is looking for his second victory, one that would be sure to be an upset, against a highly motivated, perhaps even desperate former champion.
“Pretty” Peter Avalon (w/Mr. Biggz) vs. Mikey Callahan-In a short time, Callahan has begun to be a fan favorite in M1W. Certainly, he has the size and strength advantage over the cunning, crafty Avalon, but he’ll have to overcome two major factors in Avalon’s arsenal—his propensity to win at any cost, and the 300+ pound equalizer Mr. Biggz in his corner.
Sonny Samson vs. David Flex-Since arriving in M1W, Flex has been anything but bashful in showing off his impressive physique. Now he’ll have to rely on tools other than his strength in meeting up with one of the few men in Mach-1 who can out muscle him.
PLUS: In singles action: Kyle Webb v. Dan Moore

Interview with “Lightning” an interview with "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush
Mana: How did the name "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush come to be?
Quack: It was really something pushed on me in the mid-90's, to try and become more marketable. At the time, I was wrestling as M. Quackenbush. The promoter I was working for at the time felt it needed something more, so I added "Lightning" in tribute to Jushin "Thunder" Liger, who inspired me.
Mana: You and the wrestlers/students of CHIKARA received training from Jorge "Skayde" Rivera, how do you think his influence has improved your abilities?
Quack: He opened up a whole new world of wrestling for me. He's in his mid-40's now, and he is more active and more creative than guys half his age.
Mana: You have wrestled in many top U.S indy promotions, as well as overseas in Europe and Japan, which experiences have been the most memorable in your career thus far?
Quack: For different reasons, wrestling in Mexico, Germany, and Japan are very memorable experiences. My first match in Mexico, I was given a death threat from a fan. Which is kind of awesome, if you think about it. In Europe, the fans have a great respect for my style, and so I always feel well-appreciated when I perform for them. In Japan, because I had longed to go there, and worked for years with that as my goal, I found it especially satisfying just to climb in the ring, and hear the announcer call my name in Japanese.
Mana: What was it like to square off with someone you had idolized, British pro wrestling legend, Johnny Saint?
Quack: Humbling, of course. He's such a gentleman, in the ring and out. At times, it was almost like I was not in the match, but watching it on TV. Prior to the day we wrestled, the only way I had even seen him was on TV.
Mana: Who is on the list of people you'd like to lock up with one day?
Quack: Christopher Daniels is always on that list. I would love to have a singles match with him. I think it would be a lot of fun to wrestle Ultimo Guerrero, or Averno from CMLL as well.
Mana: You've held the NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship for over two years, who in the NWA would you like to defend it against?
Quack: Anyone. Bring 'em on. I'd love to be out there defending that title every month, if they could line up the challengers for me.
Mana: In the past couple of years, you have taken CHIKARA to many different states in America, as well as Germany and Japan, where else do you see CHIKARA in the near future?
Quack: It would be great to play Mexico, since that is where our stylistic roots are, but really, those kinds of things represent great risk.
Mana: Is there a possibility of Mike Quackenbush coming to Western Australia in the foreseeable future?
Quack: There is talk of a trip to Perth, I am pleased to report. I would love to play Australia before I hang up the boots. The birthplace of tag team wrestling! It would be a lot of fun. Any last words? Please check us out online, we have a free weekly podcast you can watch on iTunes under the name "CHIKARA Podcast-A-Go-Go".
Mana: Thanks for your time – hope you check out some of Mike’s matches they are amazing and he is sure to be hitting our shores in 2010.

NWA Pro/M1W Presents Friday Fight Night, February 5th!
M1W Championship Match - 3 Way Elimination Match
Bobby Marshall (Champion) vs. “Red Tornado” James Morgan (Challenger) vs. Joey Ryan (Challenger)
- January 22nd: Joey Ryan made his M1W return and battled for the Championship against Bobby Marshall. Marshall retained the title after destroying Ryan’s knee and locked him in an STF and Ryan’s manager C. Edward Vanderpyle threw in the towel when Ryan refused to submit.
January 29th: James Morgan got his long awaited rematch to recapture the M1W Championship against Bobby Marshall. Marshall retained when Morgan was caught with an illegal object that Marshall brought into the ring but Morgan was able to wrestle away.
Both Ryan and Morgan contend that their losses were not legitimate and both want a rematch. With no love lost between Ryan and Morgan either, the M1W office and the NWA brass have come together and decided that the title will be decided on February 5th in a 3 Way Elimination Match.
Since arriving in America in November, Bobby Marshall has been unstoppable in the M1W ring, capturing the M1W Championship on December 18th and continuing to dominate week after week. Marshall has promised to take the M1W Championship back to Australia with him when he returns later this month. With chances to keep the M1W Championship in America running out, one would have to think that this is the best shot M1W, James Morgan and Joey Ryan have to make that happen.
M1W Tag Team Championship Match
The Natural Selection (Brian Cage & Shawn Rickers) (Champions) vs. Andrew Hellman & Sexy Sonny Sampson (Challengers)
- January 29th: Brian Cage & Shawn Rickers won in the finals of the 16 team tournament to become the first ever M1W Tag Team Champions. Although outlasting all 16 teams, Cage & Rickers made a statement saying “We beat 4 teams in the tournament but we could have beaten all 16, so any of the other teams that want to step up, we will take you down as well.” The first team to step up was the unlikely duo of Andrew Hellman & Sexy Sonny Sampson who found success as partners as they reached the quarterfinals in the tournament.
Scorpio Sky vs. Willie Mack
- A match with M1W Championship implications. You would have to think that the winner in this match would be in line for a future M1W title match. Even if they have to travel to Australia to get it!
The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin) vs. The RockNES Monsters (Johnny Goodtime & Johnny Yuma)
- Both teams found success in the M1W Tag Team Championship Tournament and now both look to get that momentum back into the tag team title picture.
Kyle Webb vs. Ryan Taylor
- Kyle Webb is seemingly getting more and more frustrated as each week goes by. His opponent this week will be the cool, calm and collected NWA Pro/EWF Champion Ryan Taylor. If Kyle Webb wants to be successful here, he needs to find a way to keep his emotions in check.
Dan Moore vs. “Pretty” Peter Avalon
- Since his arrival from Perth Australia and beginning his training under the guide of M1W trainers Joey Ryan & Johnny Goodtime, as well as special guest trainers like Brian Kendrick & Paul London, Dan Moore has seriously upped his game. He has even come close to beating Kendrick himself in an M1W ring. You know who doesn't care about any of that? Peter Avalon!
NWA Pro/Mach One Wrestling’s weekly “Friday Fight Night” comes to you live from the American Sports Center at 1500 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim, CA 92805. Bell time 8:05PM, doors open at 7:30. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for students w/ ID and children 12 and under.

01/30/10 NWA ECCW Results
NWA Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling
January 30, 2010
Russian Community Centre
Vancouver, BC, Canada
After the brutal three-way dance for the NWA Canadian heavyweight title in Surrey, Juggernaut was itching to get another piece of Sid Sylum! Last Saturday night in Vancouver, Juggernaut got everything he wanted and then some - and the fans at the Russian Community Centre also got a reminder of why Juggernaut is one of the sickest and most feared competitors in the history of ECCW! Even The Natural was not immune to Juggernaut's onslaught, as he was busted open immediately with a vicious chairshot! Sylum and Juggernaut battered and bloodied each other throughout the Russian Community Centre, sending even fans scattering for cover! Juggernaut nearly crushed Sylum with a huge legdrop off the stage through a table, but back inside the ring, Sylum pulled the referee into the way of a sickening chairshot by Juggernaut! A distracted Juggernaut was left open for several vicious lariats by Sylum, who could not knock the monster down! Juggernaut dodged another lariat attempt and scooped Sylum up, dropping him on his head with the K-Driller and scoring the three-count to cap off a victorious return to Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling!
Before Kenny Lush and "Brilliant" Billy Suede could prepare to face Egos & Icons for the NWA/ECCW tag team championship, both Lush and Suede were attacked not only by Tony Baroni and Jamie Diaz, the two men defending the gold in Vancouver, but by their stablemate Nick Price as well! Lush's main squeeze, Nicole Matthews, came to ringside to attack Price and even up the sides, as the match broke down into chaos before it could even begin! Suede grabbed the microphone and challenged Egos & Icons to a six-person tag team match - Baroni, Diaz and Price against Suede, Lush and Matthews! NWA Pacific Northwest representative Michael Sweetser made the match official, and the contest was underway! After a fantastic back and forth contest with several spectacular maneuvers, Matthews executed her Roll the Dice maneuver on Price to score the surprising victory for her team! Lush, Suede and Matthews celebrated with the NWA/ECCW tag team championship belts as Egos & Icons screamed at Sweetser in protest. Sweetser then announced that due to Matthews not being on the original contract and the match becoming a six-person tag, the belts would remain with Egos & Icons.. but that on Saturday night, March 6th in Vancouver, Egos & Icons would defend the NWA/ECCW tag team championship against Kenny Lush & "Brilliant" Billy Suede... in TLC V! Tables, ladders and chairs will be the name of the game, and whoever is the best tag team in ECCW will have to prove it by climbing the ladder to claim the gold!
Due to the victory by Rick The Weapon X & El Phantasmo in Surrey over The Divine Prophet & Artemis Spencer, as part of a special Saturday Sermon, Artemis Spencer had no choice but to shave off The Divine Prophet's beard! That's not to say that the Church of the Divine Prophecy didn't try everything they could to get out of it, even offering up the tiny goatee of the Tiny Prophet instead! Michael Sweetser, El Phantasmo and Rick The Weapon X stormed to ringside, demanding that the stipulation be upheld! Snipping off a tiny portion of the Divine Prophet's beard didn't count, and even Artemis Spencer faking his own demise didn't get them out of the stipulation. Finally, after Sweetser threatened indefinite suspension of the entire Church, Artemis Spencer did the deed - removing the Divine Prophet's beard once and for all! Rick and Phantasmo celebrated in various ways with the remnants of the beard, sending the Prophet and Spencer into a rage-filled attack on the two of them! Spencer went straight for Rick's leg, nearly snapping it in two with a vicious double-stomp from the top rope onto a chair wrapped around the leg! Rick the Weapon X had obviously suffered a serious injury, but still gutted it out to face Spencer later in the evening. Spencer targeted the leg almost exclusively, and although Rick fought as long as possible with only one good wheel, another double stomp off the top directly onto the knee and a single-leg crab was enough to get the injured Australian to tap out.
Scotty Mac & Dropkick Murphy thought they'd have a fair shot at beating two men they used to look up to, "Rocket" Randy Tyler & Ladies Choice.. but that was before "The Mayor" Austin Spencer stuck his nose in their business! The Mayor announced that the CAC had ordered that due to infringement upon Randy Tyler - who made a "generous contribution" recently - that Scotty Mac could not use either his springboard dropkick or his superkick, and doing so would risk disqualification! The change definitely changed Scotty's gameplan for the contest, as two of his best weapons were removed from the equation.. but not from Tyler's, as the Sweet Potato Pie by Tyler on Dropkick sealed the victory for the BBC!
The failed attempt to remove El Phantasmo's mask in Surrey didn't stop "Dastardly" Danni Deeds from attempting to complete his mission to unmask the popular Phantasmo, as the two did battle once again in Vancouver! Both the Divine Prophet and Tiny Prophet tried to get involved, sliding a chair to Deeds, but Phantasmo stopped Deeds from using the chair.. then suddenly struck Deeds in the skull with the chair, drawing a disqualification! Deeds won the match, but it appears that Phantasmo won the war, at least on this particular night!
In other action in Vancouver, "The Mayor" Austin Spencer defeated Callos, and AC Zeidel pinned Fast Freddy Funk.
ECCW returns to the Bridgeview Hall in Surrey for our first event in the month of February, on Friday night, February 19th! Already signed is a blockbuster intergender tag team main event, as NWA Canadian heavyweight champion Scotty Mac teams with Tenille Tayla to face the Pop Culture tandem of Bishop and SuperGirls champion Veronika Vice! In addition, Gurv Sihra returns from his recent injury to defend the NWA Canadian junior heavyweight championship against the man he took the title from, Azeem The Dream - and Azeem will try to regain the title by himself, without The Natural in his corner! Tickets are on sale here at ECCW.com right now, so be sure to get your tickets for the next great live event from the top professional wrestling organization in all of Canada, Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling!
