Pro Wrestling Fusion presents: Pandemonium at the Pal

NWA On Fire's Latin Hit Squad Explode

Credit: NWA On Fire

The Samoan Warriors regained the NWA On Fire Tag Team Championships from the very same team they lost the belts to earlier this year. What was a very strong battle between both champions and challengers!

Later in the match dissension between then champions, Nicho and Chico. Something was very odd between the Latin Hit Squad. After the Samoans won the belts, Nicho had attacked his best friend and tag team partner. Seems like the most powerful tag team in NWA On Fire history is no more.

The word going around the locker room is that Nicho has been seen hanging around parties and clubs with the Heavyweight Champion, "Golden Boy" Bobby Robinson. Could this have been a set up all along? Was money and new friendships more important then a life long bond and gold?

We will keep you informed as more information becomes available! 2010 Shall definitely be an interesting year for the former Latin Hit Squad members.

NWA New Beginnings announces Blue Demon Jr. and Shatter's mystery opponent !

NWA World champion Blue Demon Jr!]NWA World Champ Blue Demon Jr. Coming Sunday, February 14; Plus, Shatter To Defend National Championship Against Pearce!

We're extremely happy to announce that Mexican luchador Blue Demon Jr., the current NWA World champion, has just signed on for the February 14 kickoff of NWA: New Beginnings! in Charlotte.

The son of Blue Demon (an icon in Mexican wrestling and culture,) making his first-ever appearance in North Carolina, will defend his championship belt against a yet-to-be-named opponent.

Click here for some background information on Blue Demon, Jr., the first Mexican and first masked luchador to hold the NWA World championship.

We're also happy to announce the Valentine's Day challenger for Phill Shatter's NWA National title belt.

"Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce, himself a former NWA World champion and current booker for Ring of Honor, has signed on as challenger for Shatter's National championship, but one has to wonder if his sights aren't still set on Blue Demon, Jr. as well.

Pearce is still protesting his October 25, 2008 title loss in Mexico City, when he passed out from Blue Demon Jr.'s Single-leg Boston crab. The video of the match, which you can see in the right column below, clearly shows Pearce's right arm was under the bottom rope, yet the referee's decision to stop the match was allowed to stand.

NWA: New Beginnings! is happy to add to the mix these two world-class athletes -- and two championship matches -- to our huge lineup Sunday afternoon, February 14!

NWA Pro Wrestling's SoCal Pro presents: Live Wrestling Jan 9th 2010

Happy New Year and a bit of thanks.

2009 has had a series of ups and downs for me personally and looking back at this year, I was very thankful to have a place to tune out the world and just concentrate on wrestling, more specifically the NWA.  I do not normally bring my private life to this site, but I lost my mother earlier this year and having this site to maintain was a much needed distraction.  Alliance-Wrestling.com has helped me get through a lot of the strenuous moments of my life, but couldn't have grown to the lengths it has reach without a lot of good people and I would just like to share my thanks.

I'd like to thank...

Eric Sax of the NWA Online Fanzine.  Eric has posted regularly on the Alliance-Wrestling Message Board since its inception and posts the majority of Live Event Results.  Eric started to post directly to the website and I look forward to his posts more in 2010.

Jaden for guest-hosting an episode of Alliance-Wrestling Radio and giving me a heads up with new NWA Force One C-H-R episodes.  I'm hoping we can put together a few more shows this year.

Tez of Westside Pro Wrestling for helping to bring exposure of Alliance-Wrestling.com to Australian wrestling fans and look forward to our new affiliation.

David Marquez for being the first call in guest to Alliance-Wrestling Radio.  Dave has always made time to talk to me and the fans who come to this website.  Marquez has always been supportive of the work we do at Alliance-Wrestling.com. And I also would like to thank the entire NWA Pro Wrestling crew who've  produced some of the best wrestling I've ever witnessed.

Gabe Ramirez of  Pro Wrestling Revolution for helping to keep us updated on the happenings of Pro Wrestling Revolution.  I look forward to visiting Northern California soon to check out a PWR match.

Tim Dixon and DigitalTuxedo for going out of their way to make NWA Unleashed episodes available to Alliance-Wrestling.com Fans.

Shanes of SlamPhotos for being the eyes of the NWA Fans capturing some of the best moments of 2009.  And appreciated your business.

Jon Ian of Mach One Wrestling for allowing us to feature the match up of Bobby Jo Marshall and Johnny Goodtime at Alliance-Wrestling.com.  I look forward to visiting the American Sports Center again soon to check out M1W.

NWA Michigan and NWA Force One Wrestling for promoting Alliance-Wrestling.com on their websites.  And special thanks to Rising Phoenix Wrestling for not only promoting the Alliance-Wrestling.com and creating a new logo for the site.  I hope to make it out to a RPW show this year and look forward to all three promotions to make a lot of noise in the NWA.

I'd also like to thank NWA Promoters Joey Machete of Pro Wrestling Fusion, Danny Nieves of NWA Lucha Americana Midwest, Bill Behrens of NWA Anarchy, for taking time to help answer questions that have come up over the year.

And lastly I'd like to thank all the people who make Alliance-Wrestling.com the destination for fans of the National Wrestling Alliance.  You are the reason this site exists and will continue to exists in 2010.  Thank you for everyone who posts, visits our sponsors, and most importantly keeping up with the National Wrestling Alliance.  I hope you all have a prosperous New Year and I look forward to making this site even better in 2010.

Alliance Editorial: What's going on in North Carolina?

With in a matter of months Charlotte, North Carolina has become a hot topic in the world of professional wrestling when it comes to the National Wrestling Alliance.   For years Charlotte was known as the home of the 4 Horsemen or Flair Country, but in more recent times has become the physical office of the NWA by way of Bob Trobich, the executive director.  In what once was a hotbed for Jim Crocket Promotions and Mid-Atlantic Wrestling before that made Charlotte a regular stop for the mighty NWA.  And the fans rejoiced with it was announced in 2008 that JD Costello and Jay Joyce would bring live wrestling back to Charlotte.  And after half a dozen shows, a bunch of broken promises, and wrestlers complaining of non-payment NWA Charlotte collapsed on top of itself.

After months of no NWA action, Greg Price had come to terms with the NWA to launch his new efforts in conjunction with his Legends Festivals, NWA New Beginnings, which announced a monthly show starting on Valentine's day.  Shortly after Price's announcement, Costello start popping off about a return for NWA Charlotte, which would mean that the NWA would have two promotions in Charlotte along with three more promotions promoting the NWA in North Carolina: NWA Carolinas, NWA Mid-Atlantic, and NWA Fusion affiliate: NWA Warzone, for a total of five separate NWA promotions in North Carolina.

The biggest announcement from Costello's group came December 25th when he announced via the NWA Charlotte website (the cached version of NWA Charlotte), said that the first event  of the New Year is scheduled for January 23, 2010 at Metrolina Expo Center, Charlotte.  The site also  announced that Costello  and Joyce were joining a  NWA Superpower with Bill Behrens, Bob Trobich and Slim Baucom.  However  this was all smoke and mirrors, Behrens had mentioned that his words were taken out of context and now the NWA Charlotte site redirects to CWA, a non NWA wrestling promotion.

So what is going on in the NWA, in regards to Charlotte?  Is there a NWA Superpower or is this much ado about nothing?  It is becoming more apparent that NWA Charlotte is even more dead in December of 2009 as it was in July of 2009.  But the good news is the NWA isn't dead in Charlotte.  From all reports I've seen, this deal with Trobich, Behrens, and Baucom is real.  Apparently Trobich will be promoting the events while Behrens will be booking the events.  This will make Bill quite the busy guy, producing for both NWA Anarchy and NWA Main Event.  And if we can believe any of the quotes from NWA Charlotte's page, Bob Trobich is interested in producing a National Television program right from Charlotte, complete with National Titles being represented on its shows.

NWA New Beginnings will also be producing live events and plan to have the NWA National Champion on their monthly offerings.  There is also talk with Worlds Heavyweight Champion Blue Demon Jr. debuting in Charlotte. And with New Beginnings already announcing talents like Phil Shatter, Chase Stevens, Caprice Coleman, Mr. Mid-Alantic Damien Wayne, Zack Salvation, the "Man Scout" Jake Manning, Caleb Konley, Josh Magnum, and Brad Attitude, NWA New Beginnings will bring the goods.

All the Super Power talk is a much ado about nothing.  Neither promotion has ran a single card yet so any number of things can happen.  The cynic in me knows that wrestling promoters often make huge grandiose promises and rarely deliver.  NWA New Beginnings should benefit for the good will that Greg Price has earned through out the years promoting the NWA Legend Fan Fest.  If the announced roster remains the same when New Beginnings opens its doors, the fans in Charlotte should certainly be there.  NB will be fine.  I'm not entirely convinced that Trobich will be as successful.  Obviously adding Bill Behrens to the mix lends a lot of credibility.  I'm not sure what role, if any Slim Baucom will have.  I would be surprised to see this fledgling promotion instantly get television and be successful.  I do hope the new project will take off and wish the best of luck to this new group and New Beginnings.

NWA Southwest 12th Anniversary Show

From NWA Southwest promoter Ken Taylor

12th NWA Southwest Anniversary Show

With slightly less than two months away the National Wrestling Alliance - Southwest’s (NWA-SW) 12th Anniversary Show Spectacular was announced today. It will be held in Robstown, Texas at the 2600-seat Central Pavilion of the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds on February 26, 2010. Bell-time will be 8 p.m.

The event is already taking shape impressively with two of NWA’s top Superstars signed in NWA World Heavyweight champion Blue Demon, Jr. and NWA 9-time Texas Heavyweight champion Kevin Northcutt.

The signing of Demon and Northcutt means the Anniversary Show will have two of the top 10 ranked NWA wrestlers according to Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) magazine’s latest release of December 25, under the same roof. Demon will be defending his belt and showing why he’s ranked Top 10 Overall in the World by PWI, which includes WWE and TNA wrestlers.

Blue Demon needs no introductions. He has been a fighting World Champion all over the globe since winning the belt in Mexico City on October 25, 2008. He is the first Mexican and first masked luchador to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in its storied 62 years. He has the charisma and ring ability to put on incredible matches showcasing Lucha Libre style.

The 6-6, 255-pound Northcutt is arguably “Mr. NWA” of this decade. His resume includes being both a former TNA star and a 2-time NWA World Tag Team champion, 2-time National Champion, North American Tag Team champion, and current 9-time Texas Heavyweight champion.

“We wanted to go ahead and announce these signings right away,” said Ken Taylor, NWA-SW Commissioner. “We’re working hard to make this Anniversary Show a big success, and it starts by signing the best. We will be releasing more stars in the coming days.”

Taylor said the celebration will have live band music headed up by recording artist Hilda Lamas. “We’re adding live band music to further enhance an exceptional entertainment experience from the time the fan walks through the door to the final bell,” he added.

Tickets will be go on sale both online and phone ordering beginning January 4. Tickets are affordably priced at only $18 Ringside and $10 General Admission, and available at http://www.rmbfairgrounds.com, or phone 361-387-9000 or 361-387-9002.

There will be an early-bird buying discount of $3.00 off front row reserved seating starting January 4. This applies to ringside seating and will be in effect for a few weeks only.

NWA North American Champion to NWA Pro Wrestling Fusion

Joey Machete is announcing that North American Champion, El Leon Apollo will be heading to the state where the man won the NWA World Tag Team title with Dlo Brow.  Apollo has been invited by Pro Wrestling Fusion for what I can only guess will be a North American Title defense.  Also rumored for January 30th will be none other than the NWA Florida Tag Team Champions the Dark City Fight Club taking on the returning Heartbreak Express.

We'll keep you posted on all the card updates, but who do you think Apollo will defend his title against?  Will it be former NWA Heritage Champion TJ Perkins, former WWE wrestler 2 Cold Scorpio, or former WCW wrestler Prince Iaukea?  Maybe Steve Madison can finally cash in and take the next step?  Who do you think Apollo's opponent will be?  Comment bellow!

NWA Charlotte emerges as a Super Power.

Credit: NWA Charlotte
December 25, 2009 (Charlotte, NC) Charlotte sports businessman and promoter JD Costello announces that he, along with Jay Joyce, have joined forces with the NWA on a national level to create a "Super Power of NWA Professional Wrestling" effective immediately.

This new "NWA dream team" consists of Bob Trobich, Executive Director of the NWA, David “Slim” Baucom, NWA owner of North and South Carolina territories, legendary promoter and NWA owner of the Georgia territory, Bill Behrens, JD Costello and Jay Joyce.

“Merging our brand with the national NWA is a dream come true," said Costello. "We have emerged as a hybrid national and regional super power that spells long-term success for the NWA. And there's not a better place than Charlotte, NC to call home! The fans have shown that they believe again and support our product. We're taking the momentum created by NWA Charlotte and blasting off into a new and exciting future.”

“Everybody knows the challenges that we have faced this year with NWA Charlotte,” says Costello. “Bringing these great professional wrestling minds together under one umbrella lays solid foundation for the return of wrestling to Charlotte."

Wrestling fans in Charlotte will now have the ultimate monthly opportunity to watch the top NWA wrestling talent mixed with the best regional independent wrestlers. “The NWA enjoys our relationship with JD Costello and Jay Joyce,” said NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich. “They revitalized NWA wrestling in Charlotte after 25 years of it being dormant. Our goal was to always have the NWA represented here in Charlotte. Based on their incredible success, we can continue this goal by bringing in the NWA National Champions and having those national belt titles right here in Charlotte! Our plans are to tape for national television right here in Charlotte to spread the NWA brand to a new, emerging audience of professional wrestling fans.”

Monthly shows begin on January 23, 2010 at the Metrolina Expo Center. Further dates will be released right after the holidays.

“The first show on January 23rd is booked and will be a dynamite return of NWA wrestling in Charlotte,” says Costello. “Fans know these names from their exposure through NWA Charlotte and the exciting style of NWA wrestling will pick up and fill the Metrolina Expo once again.”

The NWA shows will be family friendly, fast paced, full of well-known NWA names and talent, and focused on building a long-term presence back in Charlotte.

Ticket prices and first show information for January 23, 2010 will be announced right after the holidays, along with a new website, blog, Facebook and Twitter site so fans all over the region can quickly get up-to-speed with this exciting new NWA initiative.

“I urge all NWA Charlotte fans to embrace our new NWA venture,” said Costello. “It will still be the same NWA wrestling experience that you have come to expect from us here in Charlotte. Nobody can duplicate or replicate this level of wrestling or professional presentation that will launch on January 23, 2010! This is the real deal.”

NWA New Beginnings announces talent

Credit: NWA New Beginnings
Live Wrestling Action Returns To The Queen City In The Spring,
"New Beginnings!" Series To Showcase Top Young NWA Talent!

Something old, something new, something different. Wrestling simplified. That's what you'll experience when the very best young talent the National Wrestling Alliance has to offer converge on the Carolinas for NWA: New Beginnings! -- a series of four, monthly Sunday afternoon events that get started on Sunday afternoon, February 14, 2010.

Dedicated to providing a fun, family-friendly atmosphere, and a return to the values that for generations made the Mid-Atlantic area the "hotbed" of pro wrestling, each of the monthly cards -- February through May -- will take place at the beautiful Hilton University Place hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina, also home to the yearly NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest Weekends each August!

For too long, area fans have been denied an opportunity to see quality wrestling action, free of the filth and profanity that you see nowadays on television. But that will change -- in a BIG WAY -- in 2010!

Each month, you'll see the champions and top young talent of the NWA, the oldest and most respected sanctioning body in wrestling. One of those already signed is the 27-year-old reigning NWA National Champion, Phil Shatter. A former Marine, Shatter grew up in Hickory, NC and is a graduate of Saint Stephens High School there. He'll be defending his championship belt on Valentine's Day in Charlotte against a soon-to-be-named opponent.

29-year-old Chase Stevens, one-half of "The Naturals," is another incredibly talented young wrestler that has also signed on with NWA: New Beginnings! One-half of the NWA World Tag Team champions three times previously, Stevens looks forward to establishing himself as a singles competitor here in Charlotte.

Another of the top young talents headed this way is Caprice Coleman, who is not only an accomplished athlete but also an ordained minister. "I love the Lord and I love people," said the Southern Pines native. "I know that many people have been turned off by 'Christian hypocrites.' I have made a vow to live a life in front of people, that will provoke them to give Him another chance." Coleman brings a great, positive outlook to NWA: New Beginnings!

Many more gifted young athletes will showcase their skills here. Included are the "Queen City Killer" Zack Salvation, the "Man Scout" Jake Manning, Caleb Konley, Josh Magnum, Damien Wayne, and Brad Attitude. More competitors, and specific matches for the Valentine's Day event, will be announced here in the coming weeks!

It's an exciting time. Please help us by telling your friends, telling your neighbors -- especially those that have been turned-off by TV wrestling for so many years.

Hope you can be with us each month in Charlotte to share in the fun of being a wrestling fan again!

Should you have any questions or comments to share, please feel free to email us at NWANewBeginnings@aol.com
The Folks of Charlotte just got a teriffic Christmas present.  It looks like Greg Price is serious about bringing in some of the good, young, talent from the Mid-Atlantic.  Former NWA North American Champion Wayne, Konley, Manning, former NWA World Tag Team Champion Stevens and NWA National Champion Phil Shatter is a great core roster to build around.  The decision not to saddle Shatter with a tag team partner or stable is a great move.  Shatter has an awesome ring presence and shouldn't be wasted sharing the lime light with anyone.  With any luck, Shatter will get the spotlight in New Beginnings.  Who do you think should be the focus of NWA New Beginnings?  Do you like the roster announcements?  Leave a comment and let us know.

NWA Fusion Meltdown Episode 16

NWA Fusion Meltdown Episode 16 from Mark Bravura on Vimeo.

NWA CONTINENTAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE LINE!!!

For nearly two years, the NWA Continental Heavyweight Champion, "Big Time" Mike Booth, went undefeated. NO ONE could beat him. NO ONE could pin his shoulders to the mat. NO ONE could make him submit. For almost 24 months, everyone who opposed him went down to defeat. Damien Wayne. Preston Quinn. Sean Denny. Horrorshow. The American Ranger. No one could beat Mike Booth... until he met "The Wiseguy" Jimmy Cicero.

Last month on Meltdown, "The Wiseguy" ended "Big Time"'s undefeated streak and pinned his shoulders to the mat, but the title wasn't on the line. Now the championship committee has granted Cicero his shot at the title. After 17 years, "The Wiseguy" has his chance to be the man. To be the champion. To finally wear the gold of a heavyweight championship. Will "The Wiseguy" continue his hot streak? Or will Mike Booth prove his loss was just a fluke and return to his undefeated ways?

Also last week, Sean Denny went on a rampage. After seeing what "The Mempho Mofo" Mark Bravura did his brother Marky D, Sean DEMANDED that he be given the chance to destroy someone, anyone and Sheik Ali Akbar's Evil Wind from the East, Krotch, stepped up to take the challenge. Considering the Army's role in an earlier attack on the Geordie Bulldog's did Krotch make a wise choice? Can he survive the rage of Geordie Bulldog? Or will Sean's be too focused on revenge to gain the victory?

All that and more tonight on NWA Fusion Meltdown!!!

Big night of Professional Wrestling - Already signed Steve O - Details will be announced as they become available.
Another step into the right direction for the NWA Main Event.  Conspicuous by his absence is perennial fan favorite White Tiger.  Also missing is Shawn Shultz, but the additions of Ace Rockwell and Orion Bishop is certainly a step in the right direction.  Rockwell has been wrestling in Tennessee under different organizational banners, so it is a positive move to see this NWA Anarchy regular step into  the Main Event rings.  Along with Orion Bishop who used to compete in former NWA Affiliate GCW and recently started to appear for Anarchy.  Who could NWA Main Event add to this growing roster to guarantee you'll be watching the new show?

NWA Battlezone wrestlers visit Children in the Hospital

Santa’s ‘little’ helpers  Area wrestlers provide gifts to SCRMC children

By David Owens, newseditor@laurelleadercall.com

More often than not, guys like “The Faroh of Phunk” and Jess E. Dalton are known for brutalizing their opponents in a wrestling ring instead of showing compassion. But, that’s exactly what competitors from NWA Battlezone in Magee did Sunday at South Central Regional Medical Center.

Professional wrestlers including “The Faroh” and “Superkick” Frankie Thomas presented toys to children who will more than likely be staying in a hospital bed on Christmas Day.

I don't care for the reasons behind it, but I'm so proud of the NWA Battlezone group for making a trip to South Central Regional Medical Center to visit the children who are sick. Obviously the three who visited the hospital know about the true meaning of Christmas.

NWA Oklahoma in the news.

Phil Banker of the Associated Press recently did a write up of NWA Oklahoma going into details about the group and talks to wrestlers like Prince Al Farat, Ky-Ote, and La Reina de Corazones. Banker spoke to the wrestler prior to the action at the Tivoli Theater.

One of the night's hometown heroes charged the ring in an Indian headdress and wielding a tomahawk. Joe Herell, who wrestles as "Ky-Ote," is an Ardmore native and 2007 graduate of Dickson High School. Herell said he idolized pro wrestlers since childhood and started training every weekend three years ago to join their ranks. He hopes to eventually perform for World Wrestling Entertainment or Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

"As long as you get exposure, that's all that matters," Herell said. "That's everybody's goal, man."

NWA Pro's Mach One Wrestling's New Heavyweight Champion, Bobby Marshall

Courtesy of the National Wrestling Alliance

Anaheim, CA (December 18, 2009) – With a capacity crowd in attendance at the American Sports Center, NWA: Explosive Pro Wrestling stand out pinned and ended the year long title reign of NWA: M1 Wrestling Champion “Red Tornado” James Morgan in 14:28.  Morgan used everything he had against Marshall, but with little scouting and time to prepare for his defense Marshall took him to the limits. The match started with a back and forth battle for dominance, but the stronger and bigger Marshall took the match outside the ring, tossing and banging Morgan against everything head first including a series of head shots into the corner post causing Morgan to be busted wide open. With the blood flowing, Morgan tried valiantly to keep his championship, but the powerful Marshall was just that; too powerful.  After winning the championship, Marshall stated: “I am no longer from Australia, I’m now from M1, M1 is my home, I am the King of LA. Look these people love it and you (David Marquez) love it too and like Red Tornado found out he was a puncher going up against a boxer and I beat him.”

The complete audio interview will be available soon right here on nwawrestling.com. NWA: M1 Wrestling has ended its year with this card and will return on Friday January 8, 2010.

NWA EPW Kristmas Kaos 2 Recap Video

Dean Olsen takes a look at the last Explosive Pro Wrestling event for 2009, Kristmas Kaos 2 which saw the EPW Tag Team Championships defended in the main event. Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste vs Davis Storm and Jimmy Payne.

Eye of the Storm An Interview with Explosive Pro Wrestling’s Davis Storm.

Our friends over at Westside Pro Wrestling did a great interview with Davis Storm recently. With their permission we are re-posting this interview. To keep up with the all the news, results and info on the Western Australian wrestling scene, subscribe to westsideprowrestling@hotmail.com.

The Ironman of Australian Wrestling, two time EPW champion and eight year veteran of the West Australian Pro Wrestling scene talks to Tez Himself about his long and illustrious career.

WPW: Can you tell us about the early years of Davis Storm and Explosive Coastal Wrestling and what it was like to be part of the rebirth of Local Wrestling in Perth?

STORM: I could probably write a whole article just on this topic but I think the early days of Explosive Coastal Wrestling and Davis Storm were quite similar. A work in progress. It was an incredibly exciting time as we were breaking new ground. Locally produced pro wrestling had been absent from Perth for over 15 years. We had a really rough start in our first two shows but I have no regrets as its all led us to where we are today.

WPW: In early 2002, some Explosive Coastal Wrestling talent including yourself went to South Australia to train with Col Dervany, Jag and Havok. While over there you wrestled a few shows for now defunct federations Maximum Power Wrestling and Pro Wrestling South Australia. What was the experience like for a young wrestler new to the business and are there any stories you can share about the time?

STORM: I remember that trip being the most testing time I’ve ever had in wrestling. We were training 10 hours a day every day of the week. We were doing brutal cardio with a boxing coach, weights training and then wrestling for about five to six hours a day. Our bodies were broken down after one day but we had six weeks of full time training. No rest days. I remember everyone in Adelaide going out of their way to be as helpful as they could be. There are too many stories to recount them all, I just remember it all being an incredible learning curve and it was a huge turning point for EPW in terms of where we stood in Australian wrestling.

WPW: January 2005 saw the birth of the Ironman at Survival of the Fittest when you defeated Jag in a 1 hour Ironman Match, which was the first ever in the history of Australian Wrestling. At the time there were a few people that thought it couldn’t be pulled off. Just under 2 years later at Re-Awakening V it was voted the greatest match in Explosive Pro Wrestling’s history up until that time. What were your feelings leading up to the big match?

STORM: Depends on which day you caught me on. I had prepared as best I could so most days I was confident that I could physically make it through the hour. But it was brutally hot that summer and it was still a complete unknown as to whether we could make fans pay attention for an hour. I wanted it to be a match that just happened to go for an hour rather than a match where two guys are clearly trying to see out an hour. I put so much physically and mentally into that match. People see the hour as a big deal. As far as achievements go, I’d rather stand next to a good match than a match that went for an hour. Hopefully we achieved both.

WPW: In late 2005, early 2006 you trained and wrestled at the New Japan USA dojo. Do you have any desire to give it another crack over there with the success that Mikey Nicholls, Bobby Marshall and Shane Haste have had?

STORM: Getting the opportunity to train at the Inoki dojo was a privilege. Jushin Liger was my inspiration for wanting to wrestle and to get the chance to tread the boards where he had previously was an amazing feeling. Being trained by Kendo Ka Shin and Mr. Inoki himself was truly an honour and a humbling experience. Stepping into the ring each day along world class names like Fergal Devitt, Karl Anderson and Rocky Romero showed me what was required if I wanted become the wrestler I wanted to be. But I really wasn’t there to make a name for myself. I was there to learn and despite the wonderful success that the other lads have enjoyed, I still have no desire to pursue wrestling overseas.

WPW: You’ve had some classic encounters with Interstate Talent over the years including “Jag” Hartley Jackson and Carlo Cannon. Which Australian talent would you like to face off with in the future?

STORM: I don’t keep an eye on Australian talent like I used to but the only name that leaps out at me is Damian Slater. He’s been wrestling here in EPW for almost five years and we still haven’t had the chance to have a one on one match. To me, he is the barometer for Australian wrestling today.

WPW: You have been wrestling for eight years coming up in November. What have been some of your favourite moments and matches in your career so far?

STORM: Most of my favourite moments have probably taken place away from wrestling shows because they tend to get a little stressful but the aftermath of the brawl at Inner Turmoil was amazing. Absolute mayhem all over the building and the fans going crazy. My favourite matches are ones that most fans probably don’t even remember. My two timed rounds matches with Brad West. Brad is probably one of my favourite guys to wrestle and I think he’s probably the most underrated mind in Australian wrestling. Dooley and I taking on GST in a tables match at Settling the Score was a match where I was able to just get lost in the moment. My recent match with Sebastian Sander was a lot of fun for me. I think his potential is just about unlimited and he has a huge future. But I think my best match is my Falls Count Anywhere match with Jimmy Payne. We’ve had a lot of matches that I rate but that one was special as it was Jim’s last singles match at the time. I’m really proud of that one.

WPW: The NWA Australian National Championship hasn’t been seen in Explosive Pro Wrestling since Mikey Nicholls lost it to Hartley Jackson in April 2008. Could we see Davis Storm in the future go over to Adelaide and bring the belt back to where it was born?

STORM: I think with the recent name change of EPW Adelaide to NWA Pro, we may have seen the last of the NWA Australian title in Perth. BUT, never say never.

WPW: What type of injuries have you suffered over your career?

STORM: I carry a lot of injuries that just don’t go away but that’s just part of what we do. The two worst I’ve had came one after the other in 2008. I first cracked my tailbone at Evolution against Jimmy. Although I’d say I’m over that now, it still bothers me to this day. Straight after getting over that, I broke my wrist. I first cracked it in the six man street fight but after not seeing a doctor, I officially broke it about six or seven weeks later. I had to convince the doctor to cut the cast off a week early so I could compete in the cage match last Re-Awakening.

WPW: Re-Awakening 8 is approaching very quickly. What does Re-Awakening mean to Davis Storm?

STORM: It is truly a celebration of what professional wrestling means to those involved in EPW. I have had some of my greatest moments at this show. I just have an emotional connection with it that I can’t explain. To perform at Re-Awakening is unlike anything else I have experienced in Australian wrestling and it gets the very best out of the best.

WPW: What are your future goals for both yourself and Explosive Pro Wrestling?

STORM: Just to be the best I can be. Same for EPW. I just want to continue to improve and enjoy the ride along the way. The day wrestling doesn’t bring a smile to my face will be the last day I lace up my boots.

WPW: Thank you for taking the time to talk to Westside Pro Wrestling, Davis.

STORM: My pleasure.

NWA UCW-Zero presents Seasons Beatings

A disputed NWA World Champion or a typo?

White Tiger, Mr. Paws and Claws of NWA Main Event will be competing for former NWA affiliate Great Championship Wrestling. Some well known names will be appearing at the event like former NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Champion: Jimmy Rave, former WWE Star Bull Buchanan, Johnny Swinger, and Tiger's opponent and former WWE Referee Mike Posey.

But the confusion comes in regards to the match up between Posey and White Tiger. GCW is billing this match as a NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship match, however its pretty well known that Mike Quackenbush is the reigning NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion. Tiger is the reigning NWA Top Rope (NWA Main Event Affiliate) Jr. Heavyweight Champion. So perhaps it is a misunderstanding.

Regardless, White Tiger has been gaining momentum in the Tennessee area and perhaps this branching out is what it will take for him to get a show at Mike Quackenbush. We all remember Quack's propensity of ripping masks of wrestlers who resemble Tigers. Could it be long before Tiger challenges Quack? Do you think White Tiger should get a NWA World Title shot at Mike Quackenbush?

New facilities for NWA Force-1

NWA Force-1 Moves Training Facility

NWA/Force One Pro Wrestling is pleased to announce that they have moved to a new training facility at Spontaneous Sports, 6622 Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

Both Tommy Cairo and James Pillman of Force One made the move official in November, 2009. The move was necessitated by the increasing amount of students now attending the facility. Cairo was quoted as saying this move will be the most positive step they could take to ensure the bright future of the company.

As an extra incentive, Force One is offering a training special where you can essentially “try out” for 3 months, training at a reduced rate, in order to see if you have what it takes to make it as a pro wrestler.

For more information on Force One's new facility and training special, call Force One at 732-604-9927, or at 609-513-5995.

NWA Mid-Atlantic presents: Summerville Slamboree

NWA Mid-Atlantic blends wrestling from the 80s, 90s, and beyond to form a truly unique experience for wrestling fans of all ages. Most of the events ran by Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling benefit the communities that they run in.

Ric Flair was doing meet and greets for the promotion before his commitments led him to Australia. However according to the MACW Website, Dusty Rhodes might be taking Flair's place. The American Dream is now being scheduled to return to the Mid Atlantic.

Buff Bagwell is the MACW Heavyweight Champion, Riki Nelson is the MACW Jr. Heavyweight Champion, and together they hold the MACW Tag Titles. Bobby Eaton holds the Hardcore title and Krissy Vaine is the Ladies Champion.

Summerville Slamboree card hasn't been updated yet, hopefully the card will be released but scheduled to appear at this event: The "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, Buff "The Stuff" Bagwell, The "Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff, The Rock n Roll Express, plus many other MACW Stars...

NWA Main Event: Announces new Executive Producer

NASHVILLE, TN: NWA Main Event promoter, Mike Porter announced today that Atlanta based Bill Behrens would take on the role of Executive Producer of the NWA Main Event Television program beginning in early January 2010.

The NWA Main Event television program currently airs exclusively on the internet at www.nwame.com but Mike Porter believes that "with the addition of Bill Behrens and improvements we plan our television product should soon thereafter begin airing on various television stations in Tennessee & Kentucky", the promotion base for NWA Main Event.

Bill Behrens co-produced 100 consecutive episodes of the Nashville based NWA Music City Wrestling and NWA Worldwide Wrestling with promoter Bert Prentice beginning in 1997. That was followed by 329 consecutive episodes of NWA Wildside, the promotion that featured AJ Styles, Justice (Abyss), Hotstuff Hernandez, Ron Killings, Jimmy Rave and numerous other superstars and served as a WCW development territory. After NWA Wildside, Behrens began producing the television program for NWA Anarchy which has aired 203 episode to date in syndication and on the internet at www.nwaanarchy.net .

"I am excited to return to Nashville, and look forward to creating a strong Nashville based television program that I believe will become the area's destination for future wrestling superstars, and appointment viewing weekly for wrestling fans," said Behrens. He noted that "the promotion has a core base of strong wrestling talent in White Tiger, Matt Boyce, Will Owens, Mike Posey, Corey Hollis, and others ready to step up and get noticed, a talented editor, and strong support team."

The NWA Main Event television program is produced most Thursdays at 413 Veritas St in Nashville, TN. Next TV taping is December 10.

I occasionally tune into NWA Main Event via the web. Since the departure of Jason James, I feel the quality of the show has been devalued. They had some compelling characters like White Tiger and Shawn Shultz, but even the returning faces of Will Owens, Gary Valiant, or even Mike Rapada hadn't improved the show. So how will Bill Behrens improve the produce? Do you think this elevates Main Event television? Are you going to start watching? Please Leave a Comment and tell me what you think.
