Is the NWA Returning to Charlotte?

Roughly this time last year, JD Costello and Jay Joyce announced their plans to run with the NWA in Charlotte. Not without controversies, NWA Charlotte was able to put together a series of shows. Featuring the talents of NWA National Champion: Phil Shatter, NWA Anarchy's Mikal Judas and Truitt Fields, NWA Women Champion: MsChif, legends from the Mid-Atlantic, former NWA World Champion: Raven, and an up-incomer in Ryan O'Riley. NWA Charlotte produced a weekly television show that is still available at NWA Unleashed. Unfortunately, the promotion ceased operations on the 4th of July with the following statement.

"We wanted a perfect ending. Now we've learned, the hard way, that some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment, and making the best of it, without knowing why." - JD & Jay

There were several talks of revival, but nothing ever materialized. However a series of messages from long time NWA Legends promoter could mean the return of wrestling in Charlotte.

You guys hear that wrestling is coming back to Charlotte on a regular basis? No fruits and fairies this time, though!

And again on the 12th

Wrestling returns to Charlotte! Complete details will be announced by Christmas with monthly Sunday afternoon shows beginning in February!

But the biggest tweet came yesterday and also posted at the NWA Showcase Facebook

Okay, it's official... NWA: New Beginnings! kicks off Sunday afternoon, February 14, 2010 at the Hilton University Place hotel in Charlotte! Like they used to say, the name on the marquee says W-R-E-S-T-L-I-N-G, so expect to see the very best the National Wrestling Alliance and this area has to offer! This is gonna be a LOT of fun, folks!

Apparently the folks of Charlotte have some NWA Wrestling to look forward too. There hasn't been too much information released, but seeminly Greg Price and the NWA are back to their on-again relationship and the folks of Charlotte are the ones who are winning.

NWA EPW recaps Re-Awakening 8

It was the biggest night in EPW history when Explosive Pro Wrestling delivered RE-AWAKENING 8 at the Craigie Leisire. Lukey Bolland takes a look at the many highlights that took place at the show. We saw the night get off to a great start when four of EPW's tag teams met in a number one contenders match for the tag team championships. Jimmy Payne's undefeated streak is finally no more as Nate Dooley made his return to EPW by attacking his former team mate which allowed AZ Vegara to pick a huge win. KrackerJak's hardcore battle royale was next on the card and it did not disappoint! Weapons were used, even a fit ball made an appearance at RE-AWAKENING but it was Gavin McGavin who surprisingly picked up the win. Jamie Jurah was disqualified just minutes into the match against Devlin Reeves. The Invitational Final was decided in fine style as Davis Storm picked up a big win over Damian Slater, JT and Tyler Jacobs. The EPW Championship was on the line in a brutal Last Man Standing match between Richter and Bobby Marshall. This match went all over the building and was not short of highlights, brutal highlights and lots of blood. Gavin Miller and Brad West settled their dispute as Ferguson Block took on Sebastian Sander in a special stipulation match. As Ferguson Block won the match, Brad West has now been fired from Explosive Pro Wrestling! Finally, it was six months in the making with state pride on the line, it was WA vs VICTORIA and it was for the EPW Tag Team Championships as Carlo Cannon and Slex defended their belts against two of EPW's finest in Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls in a ladder match! By the end of the match all four men had given it their all and Nicholls and Haste had done WA proud as they brought the EPW Tag Team Champions back to Perth where they belong! Thanks to everyone who attended RE-AWAKENING 8!

Peter Avalon v. Todd Chandler
-Upset over the outcome in his M1W championship match, and Johnny Goodtime’s “interference”, Peter Avalon claims to have an ace up his sleeve to prevent any problems in the future and will bring it Friday against Todd Chandler.

Shawn Rickers v. Andrew Hellman
-Both Rickers and Willie Mack have been constantly calling the M1W offices begging for a chance to get their hands on the new, vicious, and out of control Andrew Hellman. Rickers have had problems with Hellman dating back 3 weeks with intentional disqualifications, and blindside attacks and Mack was just attacked by Hellman who was hiding under the ring after a victory over Johnny Yuma at the 11/13 “Friday Fight Night” card . After deliberating over the weekend, the M1W brass, with the NWA board of directors has decided to withdraw Hellman’s suspension, so he can return Hellman back to the ring… against Shawn Rickers.

* Santana G came to the ring to tell the fans about her huge upcoming match against NWA Women’s Champion MsChif on December 5, 2009.
* “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt successfully defended the Wrestling Revival Cup by defeating “The Future” Donovan Ruddick, Arya Daivari, and “Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell in a four-man elimination match. Originally set up as a No Disqualification match, the referee made a questionable call and counted out Ruddick after he was attacked by Wyatt’s KC Killer partners Mark Sterling and Mike Sydal. Arya Daivari was eliminated next by Rockwell. 20 minutes of action followed, with the young upstart Rockwell battling tooth and nail for the Cup, but ultimately Wyatt finished him for the 3-count.

Blue Demon Jr. makes rare appearance in New York.

Got word from Pro Wrestling-Revolution's Front Office, Border Patrol's Oliver John will be on hand to challenge Blue Demon Jr.

Blue Demon Jr. is a wanted man. Two of his biggest American rivals are seemingly teaming up to go after the holder of the legendary 10lbs. of Gold. Coming to Mexico. Former NWA World Champion, "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce and "Boarder Patrol" Oliver John are making the trek to Park Morelos de Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. This will be the first time NWA Matches will be sanctioned in Mexico since February. The only match announced for this show is Blue Demon Jr. and Incongnito, against the two American Challengers on Friday, November 27th. This will be Pearce's first match in Mexico since he lost the title to Blue Demon Jr. and Oliver Johns first trip south of the border.

NWA Optimum's Children's Miracle Network Benefit Nov. 21st

NWA Optimum will be starting with a BANG, with its inaugural show on November 21st, 2009. Doors will open at 5PM and the popular local band Raising Cain will be playing from 5:30PM until bell time at 7PM. Admission is a $10 donation to CMN, (Children's Miracle Network) or the equivalent in a new, unwrapped toy or non-perishable food items. The toys will be donated to Project Success and the food items will go to the area food pantries. There will also be face painting for the kids, so be sure to bring them since this is a family-friendly, all ages show.

NWA Korea: NWA ECCW Stars Kenny Lush and Nelson Creed battle WWA's Champs.

Nelson Creed and Kenny Lush teamed up to battle Hong Sang Jin and his partner, I couldn't find the translation for his name. I spoke to Nelson Creed on his tour of WWA Korea. Creed said that they in fact, didn't win the championship tag team titles. But he mentioned that Lush and he wanted to take a shot at the Skull Krushers and defend those titles in Korea. More as it happens.

NWA Pro Wrestling Revolution announces a new championship!

Since the inception of Pro Wrestling Revolution, the fans of the Revolution have been treated to matches featuring some of the most spectacular luchadors from Mexico and the United States. Whether it be "Technico," "Rudo," Mini or Women wrestler PWR has brought some of the finest wrestlers in North America to compete for its championship titles. And coming off the heels of crowning a new Mini Champion, which was granted World Title Status by the NWA Front Office, Pro Wrestling Revolution will be introducing a Women Championship. Already the championship match up has been announced. With two international competitors known through out the world in Women Wrestling. The first announced name was Lady Apache, from CMLL. And recently announced by Pro Wrestling Revolution will be TNA's own, Alissa Flash. Alissa has made several appearances for Chick Fight, a partner of Pro Wrestling Revolution, as Cheerleader Melissa.
